We spent an extended time during the beginning of 2010 helping to establish a church plant in Botswana, Africa.
Africa
The ministry in Botswana began through the vision and pioneering efforts of Michael Tomasulo, of Evangelistic Ministries International (EMI). Following God’s leading, Michael invested considerable time in Mahalapye, Botswana, helping lay the foundation for Christ the Rock Community Church. Working alongside Scott and Alanna Jennings and Pastor Doug Linser of Lifted Hands and Celebration Community Church, the team planted the church and established Pastor Gabantshephe (Tex) Kiti and his wife, Joyce, as its leaders. Through Michael’s leadership, vision, and financial investment, a solid foundation was established for the ministry that continues to grow today.
Since then, Tex and Joyce Kiti have faithfully led the ministry as it expanded from one congregation to currently six. The ministry now includes Hope for the Hopeless Charitable Ministry, school outreach programs, evangelistic efforts, and community ministries sharing the Gospel and impacting lives.
A significant part of this growth has been Gabrielle’s House Children’s Ministry and the Bible and Discipleship School, both launched through the vision of Scott and Alanna Jennings and faithfully expanded by Tex and Joyce. Today, Gabrielle’s House serves children in multiple locations, while the Bible and Discipleship School continues to equip believers for ministry and spiritual growth.
Lifted Hands has been a faithful ministry partner from the beginning, with its involvement growing substantially in recent years. Through ongoing ministry visits, leadership development, teaching, training, and financial support, Lifted Hands has played an increasingly active role in encouraging and strengthening the ministry. The organization has also funded the construction of a multi-purpose ministry facility in Mosolotshane and is helping raise support for the completion of a ministry home in Mahalapye. EMI and Michael Tomasulo continue to play a vital role through ongoing partnership and substantial support, including much of the funding for the Mahalapye ministry home.
Today, Christ the Rock Community Church and its related ministries continue to thrive through the faithful leadership of Pastor Tex and Joyce Kiti and the ongoing partnership of EMI, Scott and Alanna Jennings, Lifted Hands, and Celebration Community Church as they work together to strengthen the Church, care for children and families, train disciples, and advance the Gospel in Botswana.
